Annealed Glass
Annealed Glass also called Float glass, Plate glass, Regular glass, Standard glass. This type of glass is most common use on Residential Windows but not windows closed to a door , Table tops, cabinet doors,basement windows, sometimes even commercial. Thickness available range from 3/32″ to 3/4″.
Clear Float Glass has been the primary type of glass having a soda-lime color, Clear glass can be the outboard and/ or the inboard lite of an insulating glass unit or a laminated glass product. Clear float glass comes in the following types:
Standard clear, low-iron glass, standard tints. Glass size, type and job conditions are contributing factors. Annealed glass tends to be cheaper, because the processes are not as lengthy.This type of glass tends to break into longer and sharp shards when broken.
This can pose obvious safety risks. Care should be taken when choosing locations to install annealed glass.
